“A Life of Faithfulness”
Did you know that our God is a “Faithful God”? Exodus 3:14
Today’s post reminds and refreshes us; that God is Faithful towards us every day; and not just on Friday–Haha! The world today is in such a desperate state; and in need of faithfulness, integrity, and loyalty. As we go deeper into our discussion today–the truth of God’s word is revealed to us. God is Faithful towards us; and He desires for us to develop and cultivate His character of faithfulness in our lives. He desires that we be devoted to Him!
What is Faithfulness? Faithfulness is defined as: a commitment to something or someone. It’s having a constant, reliable, loyal, steadfast and devoted attitude of heart. Faithfulness pictures a person who is dependable, trustworthy, dedicated and unwavering. Because God is faithful; we should expect faithfulness to grow in us as one of the fruit of the Holy Spirit.
God is looking for faithful people. Moses was faithful. Jonah had to learn to build faithfulness (Jonah 1:3). Let’s ask ourselves a few questions—Have there ever been times when God has asked you to do something you didn’t feel like doing, or you thought to yourself–I’m not called or anointed to do that! Have you ever felt like hiding or running away? Or you thought; that’s impossible, it’s too hard! Sometimes it’s easy to act upon what God is asking us to do when it’s in our wheelhouse to do so; but when it’s something that’s causing us to stretch beyond our capacity and our own limits–our nature; we need His help to reach past those limitations. He gives us His grace, His word and the strength we need to do what He calls us to do.
Let’s look at the example of Moses: Moses had to move from fear to faith. God gives Moses some practical tips that ultimately helped him face his fears and obey the Lord. [Exodus 3:1-14 and Exodus 4:17]
So what is faithfulness built on? It’s built on the Word of God. It’s built on relationship with the Father. And it’s built on faith!
Hebrews 11:1: Faith is the confidence we have in possessing the things we have in possessing the things we hope for because of the promises of God. “Faithfulness is adhering (clinging) unswervingly (on the straight and narrow path) to God and His covenant (relationship).”
Helpful reminders to build a life of faithfulness:
- Loyal: steadfastly affectionate and allegiance to God.
- Dedicated: zealously devoted to God, being devoted leads to faithfulness.
- Truthful: true to God’s Word and standard of righteousness
As we build our lives upon the Word of God and develop the character of faithfulness; our hearts will grow closer to God and we can change the life of others. Jesus wants to reveal Himself through you! Decide and determine; purpose in your hearts with every intention to stay in constant communion with the Lord. Be dedicated in your hearts. Stay hungry, stay connected. Faithfulness is key! Your determination to be faithful will transform your life. God looks for those who are loyal and committed–devoted and dedicated to Him (2 chronicles 16:9-10). Ask the Holy Spirit to help cultivate the fruit of His Spirit in your life. You are part of God’s divine plan on earth! God will see to it; that His plan is fulfilled. Invite Jesus into your life to help you every day; so you can impact and make a difference in someone’s life today. Praise God!
Word of Truth:
Romans 10:17–Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word.

[Hebrews 3:5; Numbers 12:7; Psalm 23:1-4 Ezekiel 36:26]
Exodus 3:13-14 NIV
Moses said to God, “Suppose I go to the Israelites and say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you,’ and they ask me, ‘What is his name?’ Then what shall I tell them?” God said to Moses, “I Am Who I Am. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: ‘I Am has sent me to you.'”
Zechariah 4:6 NLT
Then he said to me, “This is what the Lord says to Zerubbabel: it is not by force nor by strength, but by my Spirit, says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.
Remember God is FAITHFUL towards us every day! Not just on Friday’s. * 8 )
