“Seasons of Change” Freedom in the New Season!

IMG_3793

Do you know the season you are in? If we were to examine our lives right now; where do we say our life is at? Are you in a dry season, a laboring season, a waiting season, a testing & trials season or is it a breakthrough season for you? It’s important to understand and recognize the times and seasons that you are in–spiritually and physically.

Genesis 8:22: “While the earth remains, SEED-TIME and HARVEST, cold and heat, Winter and summer, And day and night shall not cease.” God has established this principle from the beginning. The truth is—this principle continues today. Our life began by the “SEED FAITH PRINCIPLE”.  In order for us to overcome life’s problems, reach our potential in life, see our life become fruitful, multiplied, and replenished, we must determine to follow God’s principle of seed-time and harvest.

Ecclesiastes 3:1: To everything there is a SEASON–A farmer understands the times and seasons. He knows when it’s time to plow, plant, and to harvest. The farmer also understands the TIMING of God. It is important for us to learn the “Principle of Timing”. It’s good to know what to do, but we must also know when; to do it. Understanding the “seasons of the Spirit” will help us to produce a fruitful harvest in the Kingdom of God and to be in His right timing.

Definition of The Farmer: a person who promotes or improves the growth of a plant or crop by labor and attention.

God makes everything beautiful for it’s own time: So whatever season we may find ourselves in at this time of our life; delight in the fact that “God is in control of all the seasons” whether spiritual or physical. God is doing something NEW; and this is a time for “breaking forth”! A season of breakthrough; A season of Freedom!

Let’s get a better understanding of some of the seasons mentioned earlier:

What would a “dry season” look like? A dry season is oftentimes known as “spiritual dryness”; when it looks like nothings happening or things seem quiet—you can’t hear God’s voice or sense His presence; a feeling of distance. I believe; we may have all gone through this period of time, once or twice in our life. During this season, there are a number of things we can do to help us through these challenges. It’s important to remember His word to us——

  1. TRUST Him in all things.
  2. Draw near to Him in Faith. [Hebrews 10:22-23]
  3. Continue reading the word. [Psalm 119:105]
  4. And pray (talk to Him), be in His presence.

Psalm 23:4 Passion Translation

“Lord, even when your path takes me through the valley of deepest darkness, fear will never conquer me, for you already have! You remain close to me and lead me through it all the way. Your authority is my strength and my peace. The comfort of your love takes away my fear. I’ll never be lonely, for you are near.”

Psalm 37:7 Passion Translation

Quiet your heart in his presence and pray; keep hope alive as you long for God to come through for you. And don’t think for a moment that the wicked in their prosperity are better off than you.

Proverbs 3:5-8 Passion Translation

“Trust in the Lord completely, and do not rely on your own opinions. With all your heart rely on him to guide you, and he will lead you in every decision you make. Become intimate with Him in whatever you do, and he will lead you wherever you go. Don’t think for a moment that you know it all, For wisdom comes when you adore him with undivided devotion and avoid everything that’s wrong—For then you will find the healing refreshment your body and spirit long for.”

As we apply these truths to our life in a “dry season”; we must also be sure to examine our hearts—do a self check up to see if there is anything causing you from moving out of this season. Be sure to repent, and receive forgiveness. God is loving and merciful!

Next; let’s consider the “Waiting season”:

The waiting season is also a testing season. The testing of our faith; produces patience!

James 5:7-8 Passion Translation

Meanwhile, brothers and sisters, we must be patient and filled with expectation as we wait for the appearing of the Lord. Think about the farmer who has to patiently wait for the earth’s harvest as it ripens because of the early and latter rains. So you also keep your hopes high and patient, for the presence of the Lord is drawing closer.

What may be some things you are waiting for in this season? Is it a promotion, a marriage (the right mate), a new born child, a Christian business venture, circumstances to change, or for your purpose to unfold? In this time of waiting for the answers to these questions—God is saying to you; Hold fast to your confession of faith! Hold onto the promises of God (Hebrews 10:23); (Romans 4:17). Fasten your faith to the promises of God (Hebrews 11:33). God is preparing you in this season, to get you to the next one. Allow Him to prune you and cut away what is needed (John 15:4-11 Passion Translation).

Regardless of the season you are in; just know and understand that God is planning something big and exciting for you. He’s making you ready! God is always with you in your time of need. He is ready to comfort you, He is redeeming your time and He is close to the brokenhearted. He knows and understands you; he calls you by name!                  [Psalm 147:3-4] [Ephesians 5:16]

John 10:2-5 Passion Translation

“But the True Shepherd walks right up to the gate, and because the gatekeeper knows who he is, he opens the gate to let him in. And the sheep recognize the voice of the True Shepherd, for he calls his own by name and leads them out, for they belong to him. And when he has brought out all his sheep, he walks ahead of them and they will follow him, for they are familiar with his voice. But they will run away from strangers and never follow them because they know it’s the voice of a stranger.”

There is FREEDOM and LIBERTY in the “SEASONS of CHANGE”! For He whom the Son has set free; is free indeed. Jesus says, to cast your concerns over on Him. He tells us—that His yoke is easy, and His burden is light. This means that we are not too worry about today, tomorrow or the next; because He already has it all figured out. All we need to do is trust in Him. [Psalm 55:22; Matthew 6:25-34; Romans 8:28; 1 Peter 5:6-7]

Galatians 5:1 Passion Translation

Let me be clear, the Anointed One has set us free—not partially, but completely and wonderfully free! We must always cherish this truth and stubbornly refuse to go back into the bondage of our past.

Free Indeed, Free Indeed! Christ has set you free!

Isaiah 58:8

Then shall your light break forth like the dawn,

and your healing shall spring up speedily;

your righteousness shall go before you;

the glory of the Lord shall be your rear guard.

How has Christ’s love freed you?

I sincerely and truly encourage you to embrace the season you are in; for it is only for a brief moment. Joy cometh!  Victory is here! May God richly bless your life.
