Do you ever wonder what happens to the time or where does the time go? It seems as though these days that we are living in; are going by so quickly. There’s a shift going on in the world. Realization sets in as we take a seat back and really begin to ponder on life’s goals and purposes. We begin to ask ourselves… are we living our life with intention, with purpose and with passion? What are we doing with our TIME? “Are you making the most of your time in a fast-paced, ever-changing world?” Yes; these are the many questions that I believe many are asking. It is a pivotal time to be careful and consider your ways; the choices and decisions; you make will lead you through your journey in life. God gives the strength; that is needed so that you may gain the wisdom needed to keep an account of your days and help you develop that inner wisdom. Your strength (help) comes from the Lord. [Haggai 1:7] [Psalm 121:1-2] These are “Precious Times” we are living in.
Psalm 90:11-12 the Passion Translation says:
11-“Lord, who fully knows the power of your passion and the intensity of your emotions?
12-Help us to remember that our days are numbered, and help us to interpret our lives correctly. Set your wisdom deeply in our hearts so that we may accept your correction.”
In this time that we living in now, I hear the Holy Spirit giving instruction to us in this day and hour to live life more intentionally. God wants you and I to move forward and live our days, weeks, months, and years with INTENTION. What does that mean? The word “Intention” means; to determine, to plan, to be deliberate, to calculate and to have a purpose. It means being “purposeful in word and action”. Live a life that is meaningful and fulfilling to you. Make thoughtful choices in your life. To be intentional means: “actively embracing and engaging each day on purpose and making it a great day“.
Ephesians 5:15-18 Passion Translation
So be very careful how you live’ not being foolish as those with no understanding, but live honorably with true wisdom, for we are living in evil times. Take full advantage of every day as you spend your life for his purposes. And then you will have discernment to fully understand God’s will. And don’t be drunk with wine, which is rebellion; instead be filled with the fullness of the Holy Spirit.
God has unique plans and a purpose for you. He gives knowledge and understanding in His word, to help you carry out the plans and purpose for your life everyday. The word says, that your steps are ordered by Him (Psalm 37:23). God encourages you to make the most of every opportunity even though the days are evil and to live life knowing that you are graced and gifted to serve in the normal every day routine that you find yourself in. It is important that you seek God first, and put Him first in your day–He will redeem the time (Matthew 6:33, Colossians 4:5, Ecclesiastes 3:1).
You may be at a place where exhaustion has settled in, you feel like there’s not enough time in the day to accomplish what needs to be done, or you’re just not feeling as excited and passionate about the task at hand. So many of us go through life thinking or feeling this way. But, there is hope, there is a way and there is a solution. I want to encourage you with scripture that God says, “Your Times are in His Hands” ! How are your times in His hands?
Psalm 31:1-16 (Passion Translation) talks about His Goodness!
The first thing He says; to do is TRUST: Verse 1-“I trust you, Lord, to be my hiding place.” Then he encourages us to have PATIENCE; instead of becoming impatient with His plans. God is long-suffering towards us.
Verse 10- “I’m exhausted! My life is spent with sorrow, my years with sighing and sadness. because of all these troubles, I have no more strength. My inner being is so weak and frail.
Verses 14-16- I’m desperate, Lord! I throw myself upon you, for you alone are my God! My life, my every moment, my destiny–it’s all in your hands. So I know you can deliver me from those who persecute me relentlessly. Let your shining face shine on me. Let your undying love and glorious grace save me from all this gloom.
He is with you each step of the way. Leading and guiding every move you make.
Psalm 23 reflects having a personal relationship with the Lord. So in order to fully trust and have patience in the timing and the plans of God; it is important to cultivate a RELATIONSHIP with the Lord. It is possible to have this relationship by His sacrifice. The way to the Father, is through the son (John 14:6).
Rest assured that God is in control of the circumstances in your life. He has a timing for everything and He is working it all out for good. I want to leave you with some pointers that will help you to determine and consider your ways:
- Confess Jesus as your Lord and Savior: in order to have a personal relationship. Romans 10:9-13: Ask Jesus to come into your heart, Believe that God raised Him from the dead, and know that your sins are forgiven. It’s that simple! Be saved today; don’t wait another minute.
- Give thought to your ways: Spend time in the PRESENCE of the Lord; wholeheartedly and with right motive and in obedience to God. Haggai 1:7-13
- Remember to seek God first, He will help you find balance and will order your steps for the task at hand. Matthew 6:33
- Stay focused on living an intentional life! Hebrews 12:2
Ask yourself these things to help you discern your purpose and be more intentional:
- What did God create me to do?
- What am I passionate about doing?
- What do others see me doing that seems hard for them; but effortless to me?
- What truths do you stand on and bear witness to in your life?
As you reflect on the answers to these questions and all that has been mentioned to you here today; you will begin to see that God wants to use your life uniquely. He has a divine destiny for you! Be encouraged today, to search the heart of God for the answers and for the specific outline he has for your daily life. Redeem the time! Remember, that your times are in His hands–and He is working out every detail, every minute and hour of your day. Your time is not wasted; if you are following His will for your life. Know that He cares for and loves you deeply (Romans 8:28).
I pray this has blessed and encouraged you to continually seek His face and regularly spend time in His word and in His presence so you can Live your life on Purpose, and Live it Intentionally. Amen!
